After more than 32 years of friendship, Damon and Champion brought their different backgrounds and experience together to build a roofing company around something simple: do what you say you're going to do, communicate clearly and treat people's property with respect.
That's the foundation of Class 5 Roofing.
32 YEARS BEFORE CLASS 5 ROOFING
THE STORY DIDN'T START WITH A ROOF.
Long before Class 5 Roofing had a name, Damon and Champion were friends.
They met in the sixth grade through Champion's brother and built a friendship that would continue for more than three decades. Through different careers, businesses, families and all the turns life takes, that friendship remained.
Over the years, Damon gained experience in roofing and business ownership, while Champion built his career around technical work, problem-solving and attention to detail.
Their paths were different, but they shared something important: a belief that your word matters, people deserve straight answers and the way you treat someone is just as important as the work you perform.
More than 32 years after they first met, those values became part of the foundation for Class 5 Roofing.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST HAVE TO PULL THE TRIGGER.
Damon had talked about starting a roofing company for years.
He knew the industry. He understood the work. And after years of running businesses, he also knew there was room to build a roofing company differently—one centered on communication, accountability and treating people the way you would want to be treated.
Then an opportunity came along to help with a roofing project for friends of friends.
That job brought the idea back to the surface.
Instead of talking about starting the company someday, Damon decided it was time to actually do it.
And when he decided to build Class 5 Roofing, he called someone he'd trusted for more than three decades—Champion.
What started as a conversation between two longtime friends became a plan to build a roofing company around the standards they already lived by.

Damon brings roofing experience and years of business ownership to Class 5. He believes a roofing company should do more than deliver good work—it should communicate clearly, keep its word and make sure property owners understand what happens next.
CHAMPION — OPERATIONS & TECHNICAL
Champion brings a technical and problem-solving background shaped by ten years as a military avionics technician and years in technology and business. His approach is simple: understand the problem, pay attention to the details and communicate clearly from start to finish.
